BC Tour Pics 2007

bc tour ~ march 2007
March 25th, 2007

things i love about touring...

#1)   the lovely little routine you fall into that requires no alarm clocks

#2)   internet & digital cameras

#3)   finally finding time to check out all those Cd's you've been meaning to listen too...

       (in no particular order)
       bob dylans essentials
       Johnny & June Duets
       Fred Eaglesmith
       oh! joanna newsome 1st & 2nd
       hank williams greatest hits
sam baker - mercy - highly recommend :)
       nick drake
       new lucinda
       jeff buckley - grace

#4)  how every pre-conceived notion about the rooms you will be playing is entirely
wrong and something or someone always makes it
absolutely worthwhile and a place to remember.

#5)  messages left on your cell phone by husbands and such...

#6)  the gratitude you have for the pillow you brought from home.

#7)  how we thought we might get some sleep in the van on occasion but soon
realized we had brought way too many clothes and there was no way that
      was going to happen.

#8)  how even though we had brought way too many clothes we stopped at
thrift stores practically daily and found lots of lovely little things...

#9)   waiting for ferries...

#10) americano coffees & licorice tea

#11) mufflers without holes in them

#12) "hippies"

#13) how grateful you are that the person you are traveling with is lovely
and kind and makes you laugh...a lot.

#14) driving in fog so thick you feel like you're on mars... 3rd times a charm!

#15)  the knitted slippers that you bought in new denver...

#16)  coming home

March 3rd, 2007

hello to everyone back home and everyone we have met on our travels to date!
wow. we are having a ridiculously lovely time here in bc... we have been
so well taken care of by all the very generous folks we have met...

today we are heading to hope, and tomorrow we get to enjoy our first day off,
glad it will be there in Hope. I imagine it is the perfect place to chill out for an afternoon.

we are snapping pictures like crazy tourists and laughing a lot... have seemed to
fallen in to a lovely little routine, wake up, coffee, drive, coffee, drive, tea, arrive tea,
set up, food, play, wine, play, wine, sleep  :) Repeat. I love it.

Hope you are all well back home,
lots of love,
Alexia
